Today we made the long trip to Florence through the Italian countryside. We stopped at a winery in Tuscany for wine, cheese and olive oil tasting. The olive oil in Italy is very different that the way we know it. It is much stronger, saltier and sometimes peppery. We bought three bottles. Tuscany is known for Chianti wine. We were able to taste a few bottles. It was great. We bout 7 bottles. We made it to our hotel in Florence where we had dinner at an Italian ristorante. The free meals from Contiki are not the best. Tomorrow we will have a walking tour of Florence, see a gold and leather demonstration, have time for shopping and head to the Tuscan hills once again, for dinner.
We hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for your comments. It's great to hear from all of you!

Hey ladies... it sounds like you are having a ton of fun. I suggest that you go to the outside market in Florence. They have great deals! Just beware that sometimes the leather can be cheap-my girlfriend ripped a pair of pants when we were there. We were laughing so hard! I can't wait to hear more stories!
It is so much fun to read about your trip everyday! I crack up when I read about all of your adventures. It sounds like you are having an amazing trip. I can't wait to see pictures to go with all these stories! (I really hope there is one of Amanda huddled in the men's bathroom at the airport :)
Ladies, ladies, ladies, as a social scientist I gather through observation that you two are having an amazing time and I must admit that such adventures and memories that you are building inspire a young man such as myself to travel, travel and travel some more....I can't wait to see some photos to match a visual with the stories, and it is my hope that the remainder of your trip is nothing shy than phenomenal....toss an extra coin in the Trevi Fountain for Philly....
Wow, it sounds like you are not likely to ever forget this wonderful trip! Since I can't be there with you, reading all about your adventures is second best! I get so excited every day when I get home from work (yuck!) to read about how the two of you are doing! I miss you and hope that your trip continues to get better and better! Tomorrow night some of us will be going to Wine Steals...We'll toast to the two of you for sure!
Eat Drink and Be Merry!!!

Ladies - you are paving the Roman way for me very respectfully! Setting some high standards for major revelry too! This seems like the tour of a lifetime, so keep livin' it up! See you in the USA (where you can always count on a LOAD of cheese on your pizza).
